ONE: Manuel Antonio López

Manuel Antonio López
A challenge overcome:  I travelled through Bolivia, Peru and Argentina, playing in the streets and making artisanal goods.
A dream for the future:  To be able to have a life outside the system imposed by the authorities.
A hope for the global village: That we internationalise all the cultures and resources to unite ourselves

A hugely warm character with a smile that’s like a hug Manuel Antonio López joined us in painting the Divina after he’d played at the environmental meeting at Parque Coll that Sunday afternoon.  A warm character, his attention to detail in painting the statue was impressive and he told us of a particularly interesting stop-motion project he’d been involved in before where all of the scenes and characters were made from dough to tell the story of change from rural life, living in harmony with nature, to city life, disconnected from nature to the point where a bird uses stairs to climb a building and is able to fall to its death in a suicide jump despite having wings.

Manuel travels a lot, making his way by busking with his music and making artisan jewelry.  Perhaps one day we will cross paths unexpectedly in another country!

Thanks for your collaboration Manuel and good luck in all your projects and travels!
:-)
